The DoI says it expects to be able to fully open a public right of way later this month.
PROW 423 from Grenaby Road to the Ballamodha has been closed for some considerable time, the initial closure was due to a fallen tree.
The DoI said that minor works have been being undertaken since earlier this year, with the team able to fully tackle the length of the path since the weather has improved.
It added: “While this is not yet complete the photos show some of the work being undertaken which include the building of boardwalks across wet and uneven areas, installing steps, trimming the new path route to allow the joinery team to get through and bank stabilisation where needed.
“Included is also photos of areas where work is still needed. As you can see there is still some work to go, but the two joinery teams are working hard to get the path open again.”
