A series of free drop-in sessions is being held across the island to encourage people to get involved in the newly launched Year of the Manx Language.
Organised by the Jeebin Manx Language Network, the sessions aim to introduce the public to the goals of the year and show how individuals, community groups and businesses can take part.
They will run on Saturday mornings throughout January, from 10am to noon, offering a relaxed and welcoming environment to ask questions and explore opportunities.
Manx Sessions
The first session will take place on January 17 at Noa Market Hall, followed by January 24 at the Methodist Hall on Station Road in Port Erin, and January 31 at Ramsey Town Hall.
Year of the Manx Language Coordinator at Culture Vannin, Tiffany Kerruish, said the sessions are designed to be informal and friendly, providing information about learning Manx and the support available for events or projects.
Attendees will also be able to enjoy refreshments, including coffee and pastries at Noa, and tea and cake provided by Jeebin volunteers at the Port Erin and Ramsey sessions.
Ms Kerruish said the Manx language is a unique cultural asset belonging to everyone connected to the island, and hopes the year will inspire people to engage in small but meaningful ways to help the language thrive.
