In recognition of Baby Loss Awareness Week, the Ultrasound Department at Noble’s Hospital has launched a fundraising initiative in support of Arlo’s Adventure.
Arlo’s Adventure is a local charity dedicated to supporting bereaved families and pregnant women across the Isle of Man.
From October 9 to 15, donation buckets will be placed in the Women and Children’s Department at Noble’s Hospital.
Contributions can be made in cash or via the QR code displayed on each bucket.

Arlo’s Adventure offers compassionate support for families navigating the most difficult moments of pregnancy.
A spokesperson from the charity said: “Ultrasound scans are supposed to be a celebration, but sometimes they’re not.”
By raising awareness of pregnancy loss, the Ultrasound team hopes that those who have received joyful news during scans may take a moment to reflect on those who haven’t, and consider donating to support bereaved families.
The Ultrasound Department chose to support Arlo’s Adventure in recognition of the charity’s ongoing contributions to patients and their families.
These include the development of the Bluebell Suite, a dedicated space for those experiencing loss, and the recent donation of miscarriage collection cradles, which offer dignity and care during profoundly difficult times.
Kate Butler, Manx Care Sonographer, said: “We are really grateful for the work Arlo’s Adventure continues to do for our patients and their families. This fundraiser is a way for us to honour Baby Loss Awareness Week and help ensure that every family receives the support they need.”
