A Ramsey man has launched a fundraising campaign in memory of his former guide dog, Keighley, who passed away in December after a short illness.
Wayne, who is blind and a volunteer speaker for Guide Dogs, hopes to raise £2,500 for the Guide Dogs Association, enough to name a new puppy in Keighley’s honour.
More than £1,000 has already been donated through a Facebook page and JustGiving campaign.
Local businesses are being invited to support the effort, and several community events are already under way.
Ramsey Library is running a puppy‑name sweepstake with a hamper donated by Ramsey Tesco, while plans are being finalised for a dog‑themed “pup quiz” and raffle at The Swan in Ramsey.
Wayne said he is grateful for the support received so far and is happy to speak to any organisations interested in hosting fundraising activities.
