Further Yellow Weather Warning Issued

A further yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping and inner harbour flooding has been issued.

The warning comes into place at 00:30am on Thursday (September 11) morning and will stay in place until 4pm tomorrow.

Coastal Overtopping is likely on Castletown promenades, Shore Road Rushen and the northern end of Douglas promenade.

Inner Harbour Flooding is likely on Back Hope Street, Castletown and to a lesser extent the Tongue in Douglas.

Yellow Weather warning

Strong south-westerly winds accompanied with large high tides overnight will lead to minor coastal overtopping of water and minor debris around the hours of high tide (11th/00:30-03:30).

This will affect Castletown promenades, Shore Road Rushen and the northern end of Douglas promenade.

Some slight inner harbour flooding is also expected around this time Back Hope Street, Castletown (potentially around 10-15cm- but floodgates should be closed) and a few centimetres around the Tongue, Douglas.

With continued strong south-westerly winds some further minor coastal overtopping of water and minor debris is expected around the hours of the following high tide (1pm-4pm).

This will affect Castletown promenades, Shore Road Rushen and the northern end of Douglas promenade.
