Part of the Peel to Kirk Michael coast road at Glen Wyllin will be closed today to facilitate an emergency tree felling.
Following a recent inspection, it has been determined that it is necessary to fell several dead or diseased trees.
The trees are at risk of falling onto the road near the road bridge situated at the junctions with Glen Wyllin and Cooil Dharry.
The road will close to all traffic from Douglas Road Corner in Kirk Michael, to the junction with the Balleigh Road from 9am until no later than 3:30pm.
Through traffic between Peel and Kirk Michael will be diverted onto the A3 Ramsey to Castletown Road, Cronk Y Voddy, Ballig and Poortown Road.
Vehicular access to and from Cooil Dharry will be via the Peel side of the works.
Buses
The Service 5 departures from Douglas at 0907, 1007, 1207 and 1407 operate as Service 5c via Poortown Road and Cronk-y-Voddy between Peel and Kirk Michael.
The Service 5 departures from Ramsey at 0910, 1010, 1210 and 1410 operate as Service 5c via Cronk-y-Voddy and Poortown Road between Kirk Michael and Peel.
All these diverted services DO NOT serve Oak Road in Peel.
