GNAAS ‘Disappointed’ at Lee’s Resignation

The Great North Air Ambulance has expressed it’s disappointment at the resignation of the Head of Operations for Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

Lee Salmon made a public statement regarding his resignation and said he could no longer support the direction being taken at a leadership level.

The former Head of Operations said he could no longer align himself “with the direction of the organisation”.

He explained that the decision to step away is for his own mental health and personal integrity.

Mr Salmon added: “I am deeply concerned about the future of key services, including but not limited to the Isle of Man Airbridge, and I believe transparency and accountability are essential.”

A spokesman for GNAAS said: “Although we are disappointed that Lee has decided to resign, we wish him the best for the future.

“We are in continuing dialogue with Manx Care about the life-saving service we deliver and have not yet concluded our talks.”

The Great North Air Ambulance is at risk of pulling it’s services from the Isle of Man if funding isn’t agreed.

The service may have to stop serving the Isle of Man if it can’t secure funding from Manx Care, or gather considerable donations.

The life-saving charity is currently in talks with Manx care as to how it can continue providing critical care service.
