Gold Post Box for Brilliant Bostock

Matt Bostock has had his two-wheeled achievements recognised by a gold post box in the Glen Vine estate where he grew up.

The repainted receptacle is a fitting tribute for what has been an exceptional season for the Manx rider, who has scored several successes in both the road and track disciplines.

It continues a tradition of postal-based recognition for island athletes, after Pete Kennaugh MBE was rewarded with a golden post box in Onchan after his team pursuit squad won at the London 2012 Olympics.

A stunning ride at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games saw him take the island’s first gold medal since Sir Mark Cavendish in Melbourne in 2006. This was swiftly followed by a brace of medals at the Tissot UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai, where he followed up a bronze medal in the team pursuit with gold in the scratch race.

Earlier in the season, Bostock reclaimed his National Circuit Race Championship crown in fine style, as well as taking prolific wins in the Colne National Circuit Series and London City Nocturne.

The Manxman has also recently been nominated for a British Cycling Award, recognising national champions across all forms of cycling competition.
