Sandra Cardwell has been selected to fill the role of chair for Manx Care, replacing the outgoing Professor Wendy Reid.
Ms Cardwell is currently the vice chair and a non-executive director at the healthcare provider, and will make the step up provided Tynwald approval is granted.
Alongside her public sector roles, she is also Head of wealth Planning at global investment firm Cannacord Wealth.
In her application summary, she describes herself as an “Experienced board and Executive leader with over 38 years of leadership experience across financial services, governance, and public service, bringing strategic oversight, constructive challenge, financial stewardship, and a strong commitment to high-quality outcomes for the Isle of Man community.”
she went on to say: “Having served as Non-Executive Director and recently as Vice Chair, I have gained first-hand experience throughout my time as Non-Executive Director of the organisation’s challenges, achievements, and future opportunities, I believe I am well positioned to provide effective leadership as Chair.
My combination of executive leadership, governance experience, financial oversight, strategic thinking, and commitment to public service would enable me to work collaboratively with Board colleagues, Executive leadership, Government, healthcare professionals, and the wider community to support Manx Care in delivering sustainable, high-quality health and social care services for the people of the Isle of Man.
