The government has refused to release the letter in which the UK government said it could not recommend royal assent for the Assisted Dying Bill.
Manx.News had sought the publication of the correspondence.
However, in its response, the Cabinet Office said Sir John Lorimer’s correspondence are totally exempt.
It said: “While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the information is absolutely exempt from disclosure under section 23(d) of the Freedom of Information Act 2015 because it relates to direct communication with His Excellency, The Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man.”
