Ten young islanders have received their Duke of Edinburgh gold award at a ceremony in Government House.
All had completed a 18 month programme that included volunteering, learning and a four-day expedition, as well as a residential section where they helped an organisation.
The 10 students, were presented with their badges by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Lorimer.
Alison Barnes, DESC’s Awards’ Coordinator, said: “Although the awards have been going more than 60 years, they are as relevant as ever.
“They help young people learn about and practice teamwork and logic, learn how to overcome challenges, push themselves to achieve goals and grow in confidence. All of this prepares them for life’s challenges.”
Around 600 young people are currently participating in the scheme on the Isle of Man, which is delivered to young people aged 14 to 24.
