Govt Shine Light on Autism Acceptance Month

Through a month-long campaign this April, the Government aims to promote Autism acceptance and understanding.

This campaign is returning for a third year, as one of the commitments Government made to the Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) community within the 10 year national ASC strategy.

In previous years Government have focused on information sharing and signposting, the 2025 campaign will be slightly different.

Autism Acceptance Month

This year Government aims to:

  • Encourage autism-related staff training within both the private and public sector, such as across independent businesses and within the Isle of Man Government.
  • Highlight the progress made in the previous year, in particular Manx Care’s and the Department of Education, Sport and Culture’s developments.
  • Demonstrate to local businesses that it’s ASC community is an untapped resource.
  • Increase understanding and challenge stereotypes by shining a spotlight on locals within the autistic community. Also, referring to other worldwide success stories including both well known and unsung members of the autistic community.

At the end of April, the Department of Health and Social Care will visit Autism In Mann to provide it’s regular six-monthly update on the strategy and answer any questions that people may have
