Dean Harrison remained the man to beat during Friday’s fourth qualifying session as changing weather conditions impacted speeds around the Mountain Course.
The Honda Racing rider posted the fastest lap of qualifying week so far at 134.877mph on his second circuit of the session.
Harrison’s opening lap of 133.653mph saw him go straight through for another lap, his advantage over Peter Hickman standing at 13.7 seconds.
Most front runners opted to go out immediately on their Superbikes, with Nathan Harrison first away on the H&H Motorcycles Honda. Josh Brookes appeared to encounter early difficulties, with the Australian more than half a minute down on Dean Harrison’s pace at Glen Helen.
Michael Dunlop, who experienced issues on Wednesday, posted his quickest lap of the week at 132.149mph on his Superbike.
In the Supersport session, Dunlop saved his best until last, lapping at 128.351mph to return to the top of the leaderboard.
Paul Jordan failed to complete a lap after losing his chain on the run towards the Creg-ny-Baa, while Conor Cummins and Dominic Herbertson both pulled off the course at Ballacraine and the Railway Inn respectively.
Mike Browne emerged as the quickest Superstock rider, posting a speed of 129.647mph on his opening lap to lead the class. He improved further on his second circuit, lapping at 129.798mph to remain ahead of his Superstock rivals.
