The Fire & Rescue service is holding one final come and try event ahead of applications closing at the end of the week.
This coming Tuesday Douglas Fire Station is hosting a come and try it session from 6:15-8pm where anybody interested in working as a retained firefighters can speak with members about the role, try the physical assessments and wear some kit.
Retained Firefighters provide on call cover in the area they live and/or work in, to respond to incidents which affect their local communities and the island as a whole.
They are paid to both train and respond and all training is delivered on island by locally qualified instructors.
This session is open to anybody aged 18+, you just have to wear clothing suitable for exercise which covers your legs and arms if you intend on taking part in any of the physical activities.
