The health budget will rise by up to £25m this year, but that will still leave it below the total spent by Manx Care this year.
Included in those plans is a contingency held by Treasury to “address some of the unpredictable pressures on our essential frontline staff”
Included in the Budget is the additional £43.8 million extra funding provided for in last year’s Budget plus an additional 5.23% as determined by the above inflation funding formula.
Dr Allinson said: “In this Budget we are making an extra £25 million available to support health and social care.
“But we cannot continue to write a blank cheque that starves other essential services of investment and increasingly threatens the overall future finances of our island.
“Treasury will continue to work with the Department and Manx Care to drive not just value for money, but the improved patient safety and delivery of services we expect and our people deserve.
“The demands on our NHS have been increasing year on year and the budget to meet these has tried to catch up.
“However, further transformational change and reform is essential if we are to improve the health of our nation.”
He said this will an increase in spending for primary care through GPs, community services and dentists.
Cuts
During the debate on whether or not to suspend standing orders, Lawrie Hooper warned that the funding would mean “there are draconian cuts to the health service coming”.
