Health Report Due Soon

The Health Services Consultative Committee (HSCC) is set to submit its 2024-25 annual report to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) by the end of June.

The timeline was confirmed by the Minister for Health and Social Care, Claire Christian, in response to a question from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas.

Under Section 5 of the HSCC Constitution (Amendment) Regulations 2023, the Committee is required to submit an annual report, though no specific deadline was originally set.

The new framework between DHSC, HSCC, and Manx Care now stipulates that the report must be provided to the Department by June.

Ensure accuracy

Ms Christian stated: *”The HSCC annual report for 2024/25 is in preparation, and the Committee expect to submit the report in line with the agreed timeline.”

Following submission, the report will undergo a review process involving DHSC and Manx Care to ensure accuracy before publication.

Once finalised, the report will be published on the DHSC website alongside a departmental response.

“The Department will make Tynwald Members and other key stakeholders aware of the publication of the report,” Ms Christian said, adding that she would notify members directly and promote the report via social media.

In October 2024, DHSC requested the HSCC to examine patient experiences of waiting lists and GP services, though this was not a formal requirement.

The Committee agreed to include the topic in its 2025/26 work programme.
