Quiz lovers are being challenged to test their local history and general knowledge at the first annual Rushen Heritage Quiz Night.
The quiz will take place at Port St Mary Town Hall on October 17 at 7:30pm.
Teams can have a maximum number of six members, with an entry fee of £25 per team.
Heritage Quiz
The questions have been devised by Roger Putman and Susan Woolard, with three rounds of general knowledge, three rounds of local history, picture rounds focusing on local landmarks and people, and a music round.
RHT will provide some soft drinks on the night, while teams can bring their own alcoholic drinks if they wish.
There will also be a raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and organisations.
Robert Graham, Chairman of RHT, said: “Our inaugural quiz night promises lots of fun and some good-natured competition, with Mike Catlow overseeing proceedings.
“Our thanks go to Susan and Roger for giving their time in devising the questions – which we have been advised are a nice mix of gentle nerve-settlers, some challenging head-scratchers, and a few that are likely to prove fiendishly difficult!
“We hope to establish this as an annual event, with a shield to record the winning team names, so we hope as many people as possible can join us at Port St Mary Town Hall on October 17 to ensure we get off to a great start.”
