Peel will look to bounce back from last week’s defeat at Corinthians this weekend when they welcome Union Mills to Douglas Road.
The league leaders lost 7-4 at Ballafletcher last week as the whites drew level on points, but they do have a game in hand over their title rivals.
Going into the game, Union Mills’ form is patchy, winning one, drawing one and losing one of their last week, though that win did come against contenders Ayre United.
As for the Tangerines, they welcome the Spaniards to Andreas as Rushen Utd pack their sarnies and flasks of tea for the long trip north.
Ayre have lost both their last two games 4-3 and haven’t actually won a league game since November 2, almost two months ago. Though they did win the Railway Cup on Boxing Day.
Rushen haven’t had a great season, but have won their last two games 5-0 and 3-0 and will be looking to continue their second half of the season bounce.
Elsewhere across the league Marown will head to Laxey knowing time for a great escape is all but running out if they are to avoid a quirky second relegation in two seasons.
Onchan also welcome St Mary’s knowing anything but a win would give second bottom St Georges a chance to climb above them if they win their game at home against Foxdale.
The final game in the top flight sees Ramsey host St John’s knowing a win could potentially put them level on points with third place Ayre.
Division Two
Having seemed like a procession for the top two for so long, the battle for promotion to the top flight has taken some turns in recent weeks and could take another one or two this weekend.
With the top two having a weekend off RYCOB could go second this weekend in Divison Two, but it would require a massive win away at Douglas Royal.
Even if that is unlikely, anything other than a defeat opens up the chance for them to gatecrash the promotion party that Braddan and Old Boys have seemingly been heading for all season.
Castletown could also close the gap on the promotion spots as they face Malew in a southern derby while Colby face former tenants Governor’s Athletic also knowing a win would see them move within a point of second.
The other game in the second division sees Pulrose United face Douglas & District.
