Davison’s is looking for a new name for its diabetic ice cream.
The Peel based family business says it has been told it is no longer allowed to call its diabetic range diabetic.
It said: “Calling all of our diabetic customers: the powers that be have now decided that after 30+ years of using the wording Diabetic on our Diabetic ice cream range we are now no longer allowed to use the wording ‘Diabetic’ on our packaging.
“While we are allowed to use up the rest of our packaging we need to come up with something new name wise, or colour wise that distinguishes it from our regular ice cream so that people who have been enjoying it for all those years know which ice cream range to pick up while in store, as we don’t want to have to stop making it altogether.”
