A yellow weather warning is in place for icy patches for the rest of the day.
Road surface temperatures will remain close to or slightly below freezing over higher ground (mainly above 1000FT), for the rest of today and overnight into Wednesday.
Although most road surfaces are largely dry, some icy patches are possible on untreated surfaces which remain damp/wet from any earlier rain.
Temperatures at lower levels are expected to remain above freezing due to the strong south-easterly wind.
