The Chair of Ramsey Commissioners says ideas for keeping the Northern Civic Amenity Site open have been ‘thrashed out’ for nearly nine months.
It’s been confirmed there may be staff redundancies as a result of the site closing at the end of next month.
However, the local authority is ‘committed’ to looking after those who are directly affected by the situation.

But the Department of Infrastructure have said it is ‘supporting’ the Northern Civic Amenity Site committee and is ‘working to establish’ how the facility may continue to operate beyond the end of March 2025.
It added that it’s ‘not possible’ to confirm at this stage whether the NCAS will remain in use for the upcoming financial year.
However, the DoI said ‘positive discussions’ are taking place to find a way forward which serves the north of the Island.
