Police have raised the issue of littering on Ballaugh Beach.
Officers from the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team said their had been a recent increase in little left on the shore and BBQ area.
A force spokesperson said: :A member of the public has cleared 10 bags of rubbish and some smashed bottles from the beach. Serious injury can be caused to animals and people using the beach innocently.”
“If you were on the beach this week leaving litter then maybe some volunteering with Beach Buddies wouldn’t go a miss. “
Officers said they will be attending the local hotspots for beach parties this weekend to ensure this isn’t a theme.
