27-year-old Yasmin Ingham and Banzai Du Loir, owned by Janette Chinn and The Sue Davies Fund, have won the CCI4*S at Luhmühlen Horse Trials in Germany.
The pair jumped a phenomenal cross country round yesterday (June 15) to climb a number of places to be in 3rd place overnight into today’s (June 16) showjumping phase.
They sat behind Britain’s Laura Collett and London 52 overnight, but due to an injury London 52 picked up on Saturday’s cross country round they withdrew which put Ingham into second place going into the final phase.
It was a case of deja vu in today’s (June 16) final phase as she sat behind Michael Jung, the same placings heading into the final of the World Championships in 2022.
Again, Michael had one pole down which fired Yasmin into 1st place.
Luhmühlen success for Ingham
As well as the CCI4*S, Ingham was competing in the CCI5* on Janette Chinn and The Sue Davies Fund’s Rehy DJ.
During cross country yesterday (June 15) the pair jumped a staggering 22 places after a clear cross country round to 6th place.
In today’s (June 16) final phase of showjumping she climbed another two places to finish in 3rd on 36.9.
The pair finished in the same place last year.
