More than 200 people gathered at the Comis Hotel as 14 international teams competed in the Isle of Man Innovation Challenge 2026.
This year’s challenge showcased technologies aimed at transforming health and social care.
Four winners were announced across the Challenge’s core themes, Working Smarter, Wellness, Home First and the Biosphere Award, selected from a record 125 applications spanning 25 countries.
Concentric Health won Working Smarter for its AI‑powered digital consent platform; BeatModules took Wellness for its interactive wellbeing and education tools for young people; Plainstep Ltd secured Home First for its system that recovers unused outpatient appointments; and The Wellbeing Doctors / helfy® claimed the Biosphere Award for its personalised, preventative digital health platform.
Now in its fourth year, the programme, led by Digital Isle of Man with partners across health and social care, gave finalists ten weeks of direct access to clinicians, policymakers and regulators to refine and test their solutions.
Health Minister Claire Christian MHK said the Challenge had highlighted “inspiring ideas” with the potential to improve outcomes for patients and support frontline professionals.
Digital Isle of Man Chief Executive Lyle Wraxall said the event demonstrated the island’s growing reputation as a place where innovators can “move from concept to practical application”.
The winners will now receive six months of further support to explore partnerships, pilots and commercial opportunities on the island.
