Foundation to Sponsor Heart Screenings

A charity that screens young people for undiagnosed heart conditions has received a major funding boost.

Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation will hold its next screenings on September 26 and 27, fully paid for by the Keith Jones Foundation.

Each screening weekend costs the charity £27,500, meaning the funding will allow the organisation to continue its defibrillator campaign.

Ciaran Doherty, Managing Director and Foundation Council Member said: “We are delighted to support Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation and the important work it does in our community.

“The Foundation is proud to help fund these screenings, which have the potential to make a real difference to young people and their families across the Isle of Man.”

Greatest Help

Paul Healey BEM, Chairman of Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation, added: “This is the first time this has been done and is the greatest help the charity could get.

“The foundation has been keen to help in some way and after a successful application we can not wait to show the team how smoothly the weekend runs.”

He added: “We want to thank everyone at the Keith Jones Foundation for backing us with their funding approval and hope that there may be other institutions out there that would like to do the same with future screening,” Mr Healey said.
