Steam Packet engineers are continuing to investigate the technical issue that led to smoke being detected on Manxman,
The issue led to the cancellation of this morning’s 8:45am sailing to Heysham, and the 2:15pm return.
A spokesperson said:”The company’s onboard engineering team is in dialogue with the equipment manufacturers to resolve the issue and hopes to be in a position to undertake testing this afternoon.
“In the meantime, reserve vessel Ben-my-Chree is being prepared to undertake sailings in line with contingency planning. Customers are thanked once again for the patience and understanding.”
A further update is due at 4pm.
