Teams from the UK will venture to the island this weekend to face the Isle of Man volleyball men’s and women’s teams in the ‘Celton Manx Invitational‘ Tournament.
This will be the third annual invitational tournament, with teams from Chester, Warrington, York, and Wigan coming over to face the Manx teams.
Due to the popularity of last year’s tournament, this year has been expanded to two full days, with games taking place at the National Sports Centre (NSC) from 9am to 6pm on Saturday (May 25) and 10am to 5pm on Sunday (May 26).

Head Coach Jennifer Moret said: “We’ve had a good year of volleyball, with both the men’s and women’s teams playing in various tournaments and matches off island since September.
“We are excited about closing out the season at home with a great weekend of Volleyball! Currently we are experiencing phenomenal growth in both juniors and seniors and we are looking forward to continuing this next year.”

The IOM Volleyball Club was established in 2019 as a group of people just playing for fun, but has since grown and now has a men’s league and a mixed league, and last year it started training sessions for juniors.
IOM volleyball has two Isle of Man men’s teams, and now, for the first time, it also has two women’s teams.
