The Isle of Man has joined international partners in a coordinated sanctions move targeting a major criminal network behind large‑scale fraud and human trafficking.
The measures were coordinated with the United Kingdom and form part of a wider international law‑enforcement effort involving the UK, USA and other global partners.
The sanctions are designed to restrict the network’s ability to traffic vulnerable people, operate scam centres and trade in stolen personal data used to commit industrial‑scale fraud.
Global Sanctions
Last year, the Isle of Man joined the UK and USA in sanctioning the Prince Group and its chairman Chen Zhi, identified as central figures in the operation of forced‑labour scam compounds.
That action followed extensive investigations which led to the freezing and seizure of assets worth more than £1 billion and multiple arrests.
The latest designations follow months of intelligence sharing and joint operational work. The government said it played a key role in the coordinated enforcement activity and in ensuring those involved “face meaningful consequences”.
Justice and Home Affairs Minister Jane Poole‑Wilson MHK said the island would continue to work with international partners to disrupt serious organised crime, adding that the sanctions “send a clear message that this activity will not be tolerated”.
