Registrations close for potential TT Homestay hosts tonight (April 30) at midnight; after the deadline, no further applications for TT and MGP 2024 will be accepted.
Currently, 675 homes have been registered for the scheme, which is enabling plenty of good opportunities to home owners and visitors alike.
The new operators are able to offer last minute trips for visitors to the races as it has ‘lots of availability’ for those thinking of booking a spur of the moment trip.
For the signature TT Races, hosts could earn up to £2,350 tax free income by registering their property.
Hosts wishing to register for two years can do so for £80, equating to £40 per year.
TT Homestay
Earlier this year, the new local firm, Homestay IOM Limited, was appointed to operate the scheme by Visit Isle of Man.
Alex Maitland, Homestay Property Management Coordinator hopes to ‘improve the overall experience’ for visitors and guests by using the knowledge gained from IOM Homestay‘s sister company, Island Escapes.
Maitland said, “With Island Escapes, we have become very accustomed to expectations of property owners and guests alike, and we want to bring some of that experience into the Homestay Scheme to try and improve the experience for everybody.”
Registrations for next year will open on September 1.
