Two more Manx dance instruction videos have been released through Culture Vannin’s collection of instruction films.
Manx dance is currently enjoying a resurgence of interest on island, and these new videos are now online and ready to play their part in supporting this.
The latest additions to the collection are the group dance “Shooyl Inneenyn” and solo dance, “Sharon’s Jig”.

Whether you’re an accomplished dancer or discovering Manx dancing for the first time, Culture Vannin’s collection of Manx dance instruction videos can help you ‘step-by-step’.
With a range of solo and group dances for various abilities and ages, the twelve online videos also include Eunyssagh Vona, Dance for Three, Hop tu Naa, Flitter Dance, Chyndaa yn Bwoailley (‘Return the Blow’), Cur Shaghey yn Geurey, Car y Phoosee, Gorse Sticks and two versions of the Manx Girls Jig.
Dr. Chloë Woolley, Manx Music Development Officer at Culture Vannin, said: “Folk dance is an essential part of the Isle of Man’s vibrant culture, and we’re excited that these films will inspire even more people – whether they’re dancers, teachers, or enthusiastic supporters – to take part and help keep Manx dance a living tradition.”
