Manx Wildlife Trust is asking residents to be mindful of grey seals will be coming ashore to deliver and care for their pups.
The Isle of Man is an important area for breeding for seals.
Islanders are asked to give the animals extra space, people, dogs and drones should keep a minimum of 50m distance when on land.
MWT said: “It is an offence under the Wildlife Act to disturb all seal species in Manx waters. If a seal looks at you, that is classed as disturbance and in severe cases it can result in the mothers abandoning the pups.”
Mariners
There is also a ‘Notice to Mariners’ in place around the Calf of Man.
The Harbours Division of the DoI, has advised mariners that all vessels navigating within 1NM of the Calf of Man and Kitterland are requested to regulate speeds to avoid any wash on the coastline and surrounding inlets.
Vessel are requested to avoid all coves, beaches and any hauled out pups and adult seals during the pupping season.
it is an offence to disturb seals under the Isle of Man Wildlife Act 1990.
