Livia Lenarduzzi has announced she will contest Douglas South as an independent candidate in the upcoming House of Keys election.
Lenarduzzi, known locally for her Douglas restaurant and visitor accommodation business, said her decision follows years of conversations with residents and visitors about the Island’s strengths and the pressures facing the community.
She highlighted concerns around the cost of living, access to housing, healthcare performance and government efficiency, saying she wants future generations to enjoy the same security and quality of life that have shaped the Isle of Man.
With a background in economics, social psychology, law and business, she said she intends to take a practical, results‑focused approach, supporting policies “based on their merits” and putting Douglas South first.
Lenarduzzi plans to spend the coming months knocking on doors and meeting constituents, adding that effective representation “starts with listening”.
She said she does not claim to have all the answers, but believes that by working together and focusing on long‑term solutions, the Island can build “an even stronger future”.
Sitting MHKs Claire Christian and Sarah Maltby have announced their intention to seek re-election.
