Light up a Life Service Cancelled

Hospice Isle of Man has cancelled its Light up a Life service due to today’s awful weather conditions.

The charity acknowledged the significance of the annual event, describing it as “a gentle, sacred moment in the run-up to Christmas to remember loved ones, share memories and feel the comfort of being together.”

Hospice said calling off the event was not done lightly, noting that “cancelling is not a decision we have taken lightly.”

Although the outdoor service cannot proceed safely, the Hospice remains open this evening for anyone wishing to call in “for a warm cuppa, a mince pie and to collect your Light up a Life pack”.

However, it added “we do gently recommend, if you are able, that you visit on any day next week between 9am and 4pm instead”.

The Light up a Life campaign continues throughout December, offering space for remembrance despite the cancellation of tonight’s gathering.
