The Steam Packet has apologised after today’s Manannan sailings to Liverpool and back were cancelled due to a generator fault.
Manannan experienced a technical issue with its generators on passage to Liverpool this morning, resulting in a return to Douglas for maintenance work.”
Despite repair efforts, the company said “it has not been possible to rectify the issue in the time available”.
Affected passengers are being offered alternative sailings or refunds.
The company said: “Subject to available capacity, passengers will be transferred to alternative Heysham sailings. Foot passengers at Liverpool wishing to sail on the 2:15am departure will be transferred via free coach.”
Bookings can be amended online or by calling 01624 661 661. Phone lines remain open until 6pm.
Engineers will work overnight, with a decision on tomorrow’s 7:15am sailing to be made by 5:30am.
