A 40-year-old man has been fined after admitting a charge of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.
Gary Macdonald, of Douglas, appeared before magistrates on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court that on July 28, Macdonalds was in Jaks talking to a group of women.
One of them women then through a drink over him and left.
She soon returned the bar and Macdonald was said to have shouted at her and put his finger in her face.
After being asked to leave by door staff he collected his back before telling the staff to “f*** off” and offering one of them a fight.
This resulted in him ending up in a headlock on the floor when the police arrived.
Representing himself, Macdonald apologised to the court and said: “It’s very unlike myself, I came here today to plead guilty and accept the judgement of the court.”
Magistrates recognised he had been provoked by the woman and accepted his remorse, but said he “didn’t handle it well”.
They fined him £750 and ordered him to pay £125 costs.
