A man will appear in court tomorrow after an incident in Peel which left a woman with serious injuries.
The woman was assaulted in a lane near QEII High School on Wednesday evening.
On Friday officers confirmed that the woman’s injuries were serious, but not life threatening.
The man has been charged with one offence in relation to the assault.
A spokesperson said: “Police can now confirm a local male has been charged in connection with the assault which occurred at 9:30pm on Wednesday September 4 in an area within a lane which runs parallel behind Bluebell Close in Peel.
A second local male was arrested in relation to this investigation but has been released on Police Station Bail whilst enquiries continue.
“Whilst we appreciate that there may be a lot of public interest around what has happened, we would respectfully request that people refrain from speculating as to what has happened whilst our enquiries continue.
