With the British Medical Association announcing a strike next week, Manx Care says it plans to minimise the disruption to patients.
Doctors will walk out at 7am on January 22 to 7am on Saturday 23,
On Wednesday and Thursday, services will operate at a “Christmas Day service” level.
This means that essential and emergency services will continue, while most non-urgent services will be paused to prioritise critical care and patient safety.
Manx Care said: “We will make every effort to keep services open where possible and will provide a full service update by the end of the week.
“If any clinics need to be stepped down, affected individuals will be contacted directly. Please wait to be contacted, as our teams are currently very busy.”
GP practices will not be affected by the strikes as most GP practices on the island are contracted, except for Ballasalla Medical Centre.
The majority of dentists and pharmacies will also be unaffected.
Manx Care added: “However, as usual, we advise anyone requiring a prescription renewal to allow plenty of time to ensure medications are available before running out.”
