Senior Leadership at Manx Care has withdrawn a planned Nursing Associate course.
A Nursing Associate course is a two year Foundation Degree that trains healthcare professionals to bridge the gap between Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses.
The course would have allowed experienced healthcare support workers to progress within their careers.
Loss of Course
The Nursing Associate course would have been practical based and allowed Health Care Assistants to continue working.
This would’ve been preferable to many Health Care Assistants who would have to leave their job roles and rely on the £832 bursary available when studying to be a nurse.
The reason for the withdrawal, and those who made the decision, is not yet known.
Manx.News has contacted Manx Care for comment.
