Seven nurses will represent the Isle of Man at this year’s Royal College of Nursing Congress.
It is the UK & Crown Dependencies’ largest gathering of Nurses, in Liverpool and will be held from May 12 – 15.
The Nurses, who are all employed by Manx Care, underwent a rigorous selection process, which included submitting an application for RCN funding.

Over 70 applications from the North-West region were considered and six applicants were chosen from the island.
The selection panel were very impressed by the standard of island applicants, with three of them achieving full marks for their applications.
The seven nurses attending the congress are:
- Francesca Marzocca (Mental Health Nurse);
- Deborah Wolfendale (Community Nurse);
- Molly Oates (Student Nurse);
- Sara Forsythe (Registered Nurse – Theatres);
- Abisola Inyang (Registered Nurse – Theatres);
- Faridat Ibidun (Registered Nurse);
- Claire Green (Ward Sister & Lecturer).
The first six nurses have each been awarded £500 by RCN North West to enable them to attend.
Whilst Claire Green has been awarded a fully funded voting place at the four-day event.
This will give a chance for the island’s voice to be heard, and will play a role in shaping the future of nursing not just locally, but across the UK.
