A large Manx contingent travelled to Lancashire Cross-Country Championships in Burnley on Saturday with many dominating their classes.
Rory Teare took the gold and Leighton Curphey took silver in U13 Boys, whilst Eve Martin won silver in U13 Girls, and Henry Quaye came 4th in U11 Boys.
Bella Quaye, Mollie McMullan and Eve Martin became team silver medallists for Manx Harriers in the U13 Girls race at the Lancashire Cross-Country Championships.
They were only two points adrift of the winning team, whilst Tallulah Wilson also ran extremely well in this race.

A fantastic run by Emira Bowden to finish 7th in the U11 Girls race.
David Griffiths reported that it was an especially good run as the Bowden family had a travel nightmare that morning, with Emira and her mum Sammy eventually having to travel by Uber from Liverpool Airport to Burnley and arriving with only minutes to spare before the race!
In the 33 years that Isle of Man athletes have been competing at the Lancashire Cross-Country Championships, Gail Sheeley has won more medals than anyone else.
Her medals (mainly gold) have come in the women’s veteran age groups and the women’s team contests for Manx Harriers.
On Saturday, she won the gold medal in the women’s 60 category by a big margin, and looked like she was enjoying herself too!
Whilst it was silver for Andy Watson in the men’s 55.
Credible Races All Round
The sole Western AC representative at the Lancashire Cross-Country Championships was Jack Davison, competing at this leveĺ for the first time.
Jack finished in a very creditable 17th place in the U11 Boys race.
It was really good to see Lucas Stennett of Northern AC racing for the first time since the Island Games in Orkney, and having a solid run at the championships.
Now at University in Newcastle, Lucas finished 16th overall in the men’s race and was fourth U20.
An athlete relatively new to the sport who has worked extremely hard and made great progress over the past year is Sienna Morrissey.
She finished 8th in the U17 Women’s race and has a chance of being selected to run for Lancashire at the Inter-Counties Championships later in the season.
