Manxman Dry Dock Overrun as Further Repairs Identified

The Steam Packet says Manxman will remain in dry dock longer than planned after inspections uncovered additional repair work.

The vessel had been due back on the Heysham route this week, but engineers now need more time to complete essential safety and reliability upgrades.

Ben‑my‑Chree will continue to operate the main schedule, with Arrow returning to bolster freight capacity while the revised programme is in place. The operator says it is reviewing sailing plans to limit disruption and will update passengers on any changes.

Managing Director Brian Thomson said extending the dry dock was “necessary for safety and operational reliability”, adding that completing the extra work now would ensure Manxman remains dependable for years ahead.

Affected passengers will be contacted directly. The company thanked customers for their patience and support during the extended maintenance period.
