Manxman subject to cancellation, but Manannan ok

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company have issued an advanced warning that the Manxman may fall victim to tomorrows weather, but the Manannan has no warning.

As I read it myself I also was very confused, but alas – it’s on the website!

Manxman sailings

Based on the current forecast tomorrow evenings (March 22) Manxman sailings are subject to cancellation/disruption:

  • Manxman: Douglas to Heysham at 7:45pm
  • Manxman: Heysham to Douglas at 2:15am

To give the sailing every opportunity to take place a final decision will be made by the Master by 5:30pm tomorrow.

Manannan

Although, the Manxman is in doubt, the mighty fast craft on her debut trip of the year seems to be alright!

The newly refurbished vessel is set to sail to Liverpool (not the new terminal) at 8pm tomorrow evening.

The upgrade in facilities includes a brand new children’s play area, upgraded pet kennels, a larger retail area and an enhanced crew area.

The upgrade is the second and final phase of the refurbishment, following last year’s refit of the bar, Premium and Executive lounges, and other passenger areas.

Passengers choosing to sit in the forward cabin on sailings to and from Liverpool will be able to in newly upholstered seating.

The forward lounge has also received new floor and wall coverings, which the IOMSPC says gives the Manannan a “fresh and modern feel”.

Children travelling on board will be pleased to see the addition of a new play area, complete with purpose designed Tigerplay soft play equipment and seating for adult supervisors.
