The Manx Utilities Authority (MUA) has issued a warning to householders that a person is calling at properties wearing “Manx Electricity Authority” (MEA) uniform.
The MEA was abolished a decade ago when the Manx Utilities Authority was formed by the merger of the MEA and the Water Authority.
The MUA posted on their socials that they have been made aware of someone in the old MEA branded uniform calling at customer properties.
The Authority says that all their staff carry photo ID and are not offended if asked to produce it.
It is not known at this stage what the individual was doing, but MUA recommend anyone with concerns contact Manx Police or the Manx Utilities Authority on-call team on 687687.
