MHK accused of supporting an ‘extremist’

Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson MHK has seemingly accused fellow MHK, Tim Glover of supporting an ‘extremist’.

Glover, the MHK for Arbory, Castletown and Malew, tweeted out to Covid conspiracy theorist Courtenay Heading.

His tweet, that has since been deleted, got a response from the Treasury Minister, who questioned as to whether Glover had been hacked or if he was ‘using his position’ as an MHK to ‘support and comfort a convicted extremist’:

The since deleted tweet.

Dr Allinson MHK told Manx.news that he “found the remarks made by Tim Glover MHK insulting to all victims of stalking and harassment”.

The Ramsey MHK and Treasury Minister added: “I do not believe his social media post made as an elected Member of Tynwald was in any way appropriate”.

Allinson is calling for Glover to “offer a full apology to Dr Glover who showed remarkable bravery and perseverance to bring this matter to court”.

Convicted extremist

Courtenay Heading was found guilty of targeting Dr Rachel Glover.

Douglas Courthouse heard Heading harassed her with messages, some of which compared her to Nazi medics.

Jailing Heading, 66, for eight months, Deemster James Brooks said it was “hard to conceive of a worse case of stalking” short of physical contact.

Manx.News has contacted Tim Glover MHK for comment, but he has not responded.
