Manx roadracer Michael Evans is loving being back at the Southern 100 Races after a five year hiatus from the southern races.
Miggy said that he is feeling better and building confidence with every session, and says its “great to be back”.
Speaking about the first two days of racing, Miggy said: “We had a tough start to the week with a mechanical issue on the Smith Racing Triumph, which meant we didn’t make it to the first qualifying session.”
Turning Point
Miggy added: “I was gutted as I thought that was my 600 race over before it even began. But then, yesterday morning, I got a phone call from Ryan Cringle that turned things around.
“Can’t thank Ryan, Andy Grimshaw, Jamie, Kev, and Max enough for pulling together a Triumph for me to ride. First time sitting on the bike was last night—and managed a 2.22 lap time, finishing 9th in that qualifying session.”
On Monday (July 7), Miggy finished in 7th place on the Dafaebt Racing Honda.
He added: “Heading out tonight on both bikes for two races—really looking forward to it and grateful to be out there again.”
Tonight’s racing sessions will kick off at 6pm.
