Minister Appointed to DHSC

Three new political members have been appointed to the Department of Health and Social Care by the Council of Ministers.

Minister without Portfolio Tim Crookall, Stu Peters, and Diane Kelsey MLC have joined DHSC.

They’ll join Peter Reid MLC who was appointed to the health department last month.

Reshuffle

As a result, Jane Poole-Wilson and David Ashford have both stepped aside from the department to continues their ministerial roles at Home Affairs and the Cabinet Office.

The pair have served on an interim basis since November 2024.

Chief Minister Alf Cannan said: “I am grateful to all three Members for stepping forward to contribute and support Minister Christian in leading this vitally important Department.

“I would also like to express my thanks to ministers Ashford and Poole-Wilson for supporting the Department by serving as interim political members, despite the demanding task of running their own departments.”
