The Department for Enterprise has detailed its range of support for local businesses in various sectors.
Minister Tim Johnson outlined support for sectors including construction, retail, and hospitality, aimed at improving productivity, efficiency and sales.
Responding to a question from Lib Vannin leader Lawrie Hooper, he said his “department offers a range of support”.
The available schemes include the Business Consultancy Scheme for external advice, the Business Emissions Saving Scheme for energy efficiency grants and loans and the Town & Village Regeneration Scheme for premises improvements and projects to increase footfall.

Furthermore, the Domestic Event Fund provides up to 80% funding to host events that generate sales.
A Winter Event Scheme also offers hospitality, leisure, and retail businesses up to 80% funding, capped at £2,000 per venue, to boost trade during quieter months.
The Department has analysed support in Jersey, finding it largely similar to the Isle of Man’s offerings following 2025 enhancements.
Mr Johnston added the DfE is “committed to continuing to listen to local businesses and consider whether further refinements, or additions, to the existing Schemes can be brought forward to provide additional support whilst avoiding the risk of market distortion”.
Additional support for vocational skills training is provided by the DESC, including fully funded apprenticeships.
