MIU to Reopen Next Month

Services will begin to return to Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital from the middle of next month, including the reopening of the minor injuries unit.

Manx Care say that a number of services will return to the facility ahead of the TT period.

Some services will be delivered from temporary buildings on the site while estates work continues.

Services Resuming

The Minor Injuries Unit is planned to reopen on May 21 from the main hospital site. During TT and racing periods, the service is planned to operate seven days a week.

Plain film X‑ray services and ultrasound will also recommence on May 21 as will the DEXA bone density service, with additional sessions scheduled.

A number of services have continued to operate at the cottage hospital, including dermatology, phlebotomy and a reduced outpatient service.

Other services such as wound management, renal services and rehabilitation and reablement will continue to be provided through temporary or alternative arrangements while work progresses.

The health care provider say that plans to return dental services to the north are progressing and a further update will be issued once details have been confirmed.

Patient transport arrangements remain in place to support those who need to travel for care.

Manx Care is also planning to attend a public drop‑in engagement session, providing an opportunity for members of the public to hear more about the work underway and ask questions.
