Companies based on the island have been praised for their role in helping raise more than £241,000 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service over the last financial year.
The total, contributed jointly by Corporate Partners across Cumbria and the Isle of Man, will help keep the charity’s helicopters flying and its critical care teams responding across the region.
GNAAS marked the achievement by inviting current and prospective partners to its Langwathby base in Cumbria for a special appreciation event.
Fundraising
Guests heard from CEO Joe Garcia MBE, members of the critical care team, and former patient Samantha Hymers, who shared her experience of being airlifted after a serious road collision in 2019. Attendees were also given a behind‑the‑scenes look at the charity’s aircraft and facilities.
The Corporate Partner scheme supports long‑term fundraising relationships, with businesses contributing at least £5,000 to join.
Those raising £10,000 can have their logo placed on a rapid response vehicle, while donations of £25,000 or more secure a logo on one of the charity’s helicopters for a year.
International Financial Group Ltd and Newfield Ltd among the Isle of Man organisations recognised as Corporate Partners this year.
Natasha Banks, senior corporate relationship manager at GNAAS, said support from businesses on the island and in Cumbria is “vital” to meeting the £9.6 million needed annually to keep the service operational.
