MNH Appoints New Environmental Manager

Manx National Heritage has appointed Richard Seed as its new Environmental Development and Engagement Manager.

The role is designed to expand conservation work and increase public involvement across more than 2,500 acres of Trust‑owned landscapes.

Seed brings experience from the National Trust in England, Manx BirdLife and New Zealand’s Department of Conservation, with a background in habitat management, biodiversity projects and public engagement.

He will lead conservation and restoration initiatives across Trustlands, including the Calf of Man Bird Observatory and the Curraghs RAMSAR site, as well as support MNH’s Climate Change Strategy and oversee environmental monitoring.

Seed said he was looking forward to helping care for “some of the Island’s most special natural places” and to expanding volunteering and public engagement opportunities.

Charlie Morrey is a Broadcast & Multi Media Journalist for Manx.News and also is a Presenter on Energy FM. Charlie has previously written for Isle of Man Newspapers, magazines and also started her broadcasting career with Manx Radio.
